Hi all - I've just migrated(?) to another instance so am going to do another #introduction

I'm into #Food #Cooking (#Vegan #PlantBased but tend not to mention it) #Music #Livemusic #Movies #Films #Comedy #Horror #SciFi #ScienceFictionBooks #Nature #Running #Walking #Hiking #Art #Photography #Gaming #Tech and generally being a stupid stupid man.

I'm looking for a new experience (not 2.0) and welcome interaction.

I'm also Extremely Into #ScienceFiction #SciFi #HardSciFi #HardScienceFiction #Books

During lockdown I rediscovered my love of reading - fortunately stumbling across #JohnScalzi #OldMansWar, which I loved and reminded a bit me of the #JoeHaldeman #ForeverWar series. Which led me to the #Bobiverse books by #DennisETaylor which I LOVED. I'm looking for suggestions. Currently on #TermsOfEnlistment by #MarkoKloos & enjoying so far. I like #AndyWeir, #PoulAnderson and I'll always read anything in the #Dune universe. Really liked #ChildrenOfTime, #ChildrenOfRuin & #DogsOfWar / #BearHead by #AdrianTchaikovsky. Enjoyed #TheThreeBodyProblem, but The Dark Forest has left me in the weeds a bit (will return for another go at some point). Genuinely looking for suggestions!

@TheBreadmonkey i love all of them. Also the #vorkosigan series by #LoisMcmasterBujold. A bit of an odd series, it's military sci-fi, but the military part of it is only to serve as a backdrop for the extremely character-driven stories. #BrianDaley wrote an excellent trilogy. The Hobart Floyt and Alacrity Fitzhugh series is an excellent adventure series. The adventures are s bit like the "golden age of science fiction' adventures, only with sophisticated humor and writing.
