Danielle Smith's justification for stripping the constitutional Right to Strike (even recognized by International law, not just Canadian charter) was this: “This is a very unique situation we find ourselves in. This is a unique strike. We’ve never had 51,000 workers off the job at the same time.”

Now any normal political leader who was democratically elected to represent these very same residents of Alberta would say that this "unique situation" of so many Alberta workers in public service under her jurisdiction would warrant the response of NEGOTIATING AT THE BARGAINING TABLE, not eliminating the Right to Strike.

Especially when the entire year was full of unprecedented strikes from the public sector, from healthcare to education and more. Instead of addressing the problems, she doubles down on them.
