As part of the nationwide commemoration of International Workers’ Day, United Denver, a coalition of local unions, community organizations, and faith leaders, is bringing together a full day of action in our classrooms and communities to uplift May Day, working people, and the demand for dignity, justice, democracy, and investment in our communities. We’re inviting the Denver metro community to join us for our “Allies on Alameda” action on May 1, 2026. Beginning at 4:00 PM, we’ll line Alameda Avenue together, from the intersections of Alameda and Cherokee all the way to the Alameda and Steele intersection, showing what it looks like when working people stand united in their fight to stop the billionaire takeover. Because right now, the system is working exactly as designed: corporations and the wealthy 1% come first, and working people are left to carry the weight. In Colorado, billionaire Philip Anschutz holds over $24.8 billion and continues to grow richer, while our schools, communities, and families are stretched thin. This is no coincidence. Anschutz has invested millions to privatize public education, attack unions, and exploit working people, using his wealth to influence a system that profits off the backs of students and working families. On May 1, we’re joining a collective movement and making our message clear: Workers Over Billionaires. RSVP for this event by sharing your information below, and stay on the lookout for more information! Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
