Anyone have experience launching a program and using xprop to remove the decoration? I think I almost got it now but maybe there is a better solution. Been at it and related searches for half a day now. #unity7 #gtk3 #debian #compiz

I deeply love Unity7, even if #canonical dropped it. I still use it, with lightdm, on 18.04. I'm very surprised there are so many Ubuntu derivative (Kubuntu Lubuntu Xubuntu Cubuntu etc...) but nobody made one with Unity7 yet. Is that because it's still in the repo so an `apt install unity` away? But what will happen when 16.04 support will end? Canonical will probably drop Unity7 from the repo. Will someone stand up then?

"Unity-On-Gnome".

A great many Linux users are longing for formerly Canonical developed default desktop (Ubuntu) Unity, now abandoned and replaced by GNOME desktop.

Not only is there UBPorts who took Unity8 under its wings, more usable all the time, another alternative has presented itself by Robert Turturica and his script! Yes, Unity-On-Gnome.

Will it be made a GNOME extension soon, too?
