Being a mod on /r/gnome reddit can be pretty entertaining. I have this person who was unhappy that a #gtk3 converted to a #libadwaita app. When I told him that software freedom is you have the ability to fork and maintain the gtk3 version yourself this is the response:
'''so software freedom is the freedom of developers to sneak into my house, paint the walls a different colour and move my furniture about however they like without warning?'''
Uh, yeah. K.
@onbywill Thanks for the libadwaita website. That's very comprehensive!
I assume that you are aware of the awesome #GTK3 / #GTK4 applications list, which currently contains 350 #libadwaita apps. https://github.com/valpackett/awesome-gtk
Glad to announce that #FontForge is officially migrating to GTK3 UI toolkit, starting with this PR: https://github.com/fontforge/fontforge/pull/5546
Special thanks to Joey Sabey https://github.com/Omnikron13 for his important proof-of-concept and GTK3 infrastructure work.
Special thanks to Fredrick Brennan @copypaste for his inspirational (really, no sarcasm) article at https://github.com/MFEK/docs/blob/master/doc/Why.md
Hi @robert , thanks for #ReCast. It is great to see a tool for audio/video #transcription. We'd like to include it in the Awesome #GTK4 #GTK3 applications list [2]. Which category would ReCast best fit? The best category seems to be #SocialSciences as transcription is used in qualitative research [1], but the examples on the recast website suggest more general purpose. Which category would you choose?
