Il Fatto Quotidiano: L’ambasciatore israeliano contro Tajani: “Parla dei libanesi, ma ignora il nostro popolo. Crea scontro tra noi e il governo”

“Ho avuto alcune divergenze con il ministro degli Esteri italiano, perché le sue dichiarazioni includono sempre la sofferenza del popolo libanese, e non c’è dubbio che il popolo libanese stia soffrendo, ma non c’è l’equivalenza nel riportare anche la sofferenza delle comunità israeliane, che noi invece cerchiamo sempre di sottolineare. E questo è un motivo di scontro con il ministro degli Esteri, e motivo di attrito che abbiamo con il governo italiano”. Conversando con i giornalisti sulla situazione in Libano, l’ambasciatore israeliano a Roma Jonathan Peled lancia un’accusa durissima nei confronti di Antonio Tajani, che nei giorni scorsi ha condannato Tel Aviv per la nuova offensiva contro il Paese confinante. “Il governo italiano non può risolvere da solo la pace nel mondo. Sono soprattutto gli Stati Uniti che devono fermare Israele, noi continuiamo a fare la nostra”, ha detto da ultimo il vicepremier e leader di Forza Italia, a margine delle celebrazioni del 2 giugno.

Già dalla settimana scorsa, però, Tajani aveva stigmatizzato i raid dello Stato ebraico, pur stando sempre attento a condannare allo stesso tempo anche le offensive dei miliziani sciiti libanesi di Hezbollah: “Bisogna disarmare Hezbollah e costruire uno stato libanese libero dai diktat fondamentalisti. Ma nello stesso tempo Israele deve comprendere che non si può andare a bombardare dove ci sono popolazioni civili“, aveva detto. E ancora: “Io credo che in Libano si debba evitare un’escalation. Hezbollah non può continuare a bombardare il nord di Israele e Israele deve affidarsi di più alle Nazioni Unite all’Unifil per cercare di disarmare Hezbollah. Noi chiediamo che si fermi questa escalation, lo chiediamo a Israele e naturalmente condanniamo tutte le azioni di Hezbollah contro Israele”. Un cerchiobottismo che evidentemente non ha soddisfatto la diplomazia di Tel Aviv.

I’ve had some disagreements with the Italian Foreign Minister, because his statements always include the suffering of the Lebanese people, and there’s no doubt that the Lebanese people are suffering, but there’s no equivalent in reporting also the suffering of the Israeli communities, which we always try to highlight. And this is a reason for conflict with the Foreign Minister, and friction that we have with the Italian government. Speaking with journalists about the situation in Lebanon, Israeli Ambassador to Rome Jonathan Peled launches a harsh accusation against Antonio Tajani, who in recent days has condemned Tel Aviv for the new offensive against the neighboring country. “The Italian government cannot solve world peace alone. It is mainly the United States that must stop Israel, we continue to do our own thing,” Vice Premier and leader of Forza Italia said last, on the sidelines of the June 2nd celebrations.

However, as of last week, Tajani had already condemned the raids by the Jewish State, while always paying attention to condemn at the same time also the offensives of the Lebanese Hezbollah Shiite militants: “We must disarm Hezbollah and build a free Lebanese state free from fundamentalist dictates. But at the same time, Israel must understand that it cannot go around bombing where there are civilian populations,” he said. And again: “I believe that in Lebanon, we must avoid an escalation. Hezbollah cannot continue to bombard northern Israel and Israel must rely more on the United Nations and Unifil to try to disarm Hezbollah. We ask that this escalation be stopped, we ask it of Israel and naturally we condemn all actions of Hezbollah against Israel.” A circular argument that evidently did not satisfy the diplomacy of Tel Aviv.

L'esercito americano, ad esempio, si è assunto la responsabilità di colpire l'intera Marina iraniana. L'aviazione di Tel Aviv nel frattempo si è concentrata su altri obiettivi, in base al relativo vantaggio, come gli impianti nucleari del regime di Teheran e i lanciatori di missili balistici.
Inoltre, l'aeronautica militare israeliana ha fatto molto affidamento sulle capacità di rifornimento dei caccia da parte dell'esercito statunitense, che dispone di una flotta di jet-cisterna 10 volte superiore a quella dell'Iaf. I funzionari militari israeliani descrivono il conflitto come la prima guerra congiunta su vasta scala tra Israele e Stati Uniti, dopo un'ampia pianificazione degli ultimi mesi. Secondo quanto reso noto dall'Idf, sia in Israele che negli Stati Uniti sono operative "cellule di coordinamento congiunto" che sincronizzato interventi sul campo, intelligence, obiettivi e difesa. More than one thousand American soldiers are stationed in the Jewish State. The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces, Major General Eyal Zamir, meets daily with the U.S. Centcom Commander, Admiral Brad Cooper.
