I had forgotten that I have qemu installed. I need to check the syntax for memory allocation but this iso starts (slitaz) FreeBSD starts effortless and goes all the way to live even Omnios also but I need to allocate more ram for that than the default small ammount.

I will play with qemu later today

I was having problems with rxvt-unicode in #NetBSD (I think they don't have its terminfo definitions by default) and xterm was pretty ugly to work with.

So I instead went with another old terminal I haven't used in quite literally a decade: Sakura. It's the terminal emulator used by the #SliTaz project, another ultra-minimalist lightweight Linux distro project. To my surprise: everything works very well, it's still pretty lightweight and also very modern!

I guess some bad things come for good reasons!

I was looking for a minimal distro to run on a usb stick, and decided to give TinyCore a shot. I used the Core 16MB ISO, and I followed the manual installation in the wiki.

I was having a good time, but I realized that tcz extensions from the AppBrowser are way too old. Inkscape is stuck at version 1.0 (2020).

Also tried SliTaz which looks like having the latest pkgs, but in the case of Inkscape, it is still stuck at 0.92.

What would you recommend?
