Linux distributions for Beginners

I was asked many times over the last years which Linux distribution I would recommend for beginners. I always answered that they should try out multiple ones and choose the one that they like the most.

But, for the people that don't know where to start with that, here is my list of Linux distributions I would recommend for beginners in the Linux world.

Linux distributions for Beginners

erf, I'm way behind, aren't I? sorry. catching up on Thursday through Tuesday in #fedora qa:

* tested the latest systemd upstream patch, still hanging - https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/41439#issuecomment-4182154969
* found KDE update notifications work when tested manually, only broken in openQA, un-proposed the blocker - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2454156#c1
* implemented an xfreerdp remote desktop test - https://forge.fedoraproject.org/quality/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/pulls/514
* sent a pr to improve the bodhi "update won't be pushed due to a freeze" message - https://github.com/fedora-infra/bodhi/pull/6100

I've been using Fedora for quite some time, and it's been an important part of my journey in the Linux world. I've always used GNOME and have great appreciation for it, but recently I've been impressed with KDE and have started considering a migration—at least for testing purposes. It's incredible how much KDE has evolved.

siguldry/pesign-bridge: Move acl handling to systemd unit

We have been moving this around, but decided that just putting it in as a override for the systemd unit would be the best way to do it. - Putting it in ansible means you have to run ansible every time you restart the service for any reason. If it's in systemd it will automagically get t...
