So far I've reintroduced onion, garlic and lactose. The onion went 100% well, thank god, otherwise you can't eat anything anywhere. The garlic and the lactose felt 75% okay.

Important to understand: stress is a big factor too, and my recovery isn't fully over yet. The foods that I'm reintroducing are generally good for your gut health, except of course if you're intolerant. When the restrictive part of the diet is over, I can fully add the first batch of "perfect" reintroductions, and at this point I will recover even more. Then I'm supposed to retry the reintroductions that didn't go 100%.

So maybe I am sensitive to garlic and lactose, or maybe next time it will work better.

Another rant.
We talked about how stress also causes gut issues, about breathing exercises and vagus nerve stuff. It totally bothers me that people don't seem to understand that my stress levels aren't going to improve any time soon. If I just mention that I'm ill and that it's depressing she just circles back to "you should do breathing exercises". Yes ma'am I've been doing those for about 5 years. Yes daily. Several times per day actually. So she goes "okay you're working on it, it's improving?"

No. "Working on it" and "improving" are two completely different things.

For someone who works with chronically ill people I expect you to know that.

I said I don't struggle with finding recipes (I don't use recipes), but that it takes a lot of time to do grocery shopping. She said I can use AI to create a shopping list. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Then I'd still have to type in the prompt?? "Create a shopping list but I can't eat XYZABCD and I'm reintroducing EF? No fucking way I trust that.

And also: AI doesn't know if a Belgian brand of passata contains onion or not????? And if it pretends to, I'm not going to believe it anyway. So how would this even help?

I went to the dietician again today, to start the reintroduction phase of this diet. It's annoyingly complicated, there are 11 food groups and each takes 4 days. So 44 days of counting ingredients.

So, I have R-CPD. Colloquially, "no-burp syndrome". I can't burp. Never could.

I never thought much of it, I thought it was kinda funny and odd, but alas, who cares?

Only recently, it was brought to my attention that this was an actual medical thing that can cause all kinds of issues - most of which I have! (abdominal bloating, constipation, heartburn, not being able to "fully breathe in", painful hiccups..)

I've always ascribed these issues to my IBS/SIBO, but I'm starting to understand that it might very well be the other way around!

Not being able to burp => means pumping massive amounts of oxygen through my GI tract => means IBS!

It's caused by some muscle in your throat not having a "relaxation" setting, and good news; there's a relatively simple procedure to fix this!

All this, both the medical recognition of the issue, and the fix, are pretty novel; like only some years old. So many people may have this, but not know about this thing at all. That's why I wanted to share! Cheers!
