J’ai une question sur un ancien usage en anglais 🇬🇧 : dans les romans historiques que je lis qui se passent au 19e ou au début du 20e siècle en Angleterre dans des familles employant des domestiques, je vois souvent la cuisinière désignée par “Cook”, comme si c’était un nom propre (pas “the cook”, donc), et je me demande d’où vient cet usage. Est-ce que quelqu’un aurait des informations sur ce sujet ?
