Another cosy make for #MeMadeMay

This is a self-drafted skirt made in a cotton jersey. Fold down waist and double layers so it's cosy and warm. Worn with a second hand sweater and store bought t-shirt. I absolutely adore this sweater and I have a pattern for 'The Weekender' which I think would be almost identical. However, my knitting hasn't progressed that far yet - to be able to read and understand the pattern instructions as well as follow them still seems an ambitious goal. One day!

Look at it.
Look at the thing i made. With my own two hands (and a sewing machine). With deadstock fabric from Paris. It's broderie anglaise.
Look at the fit. I self drafted that mofo, that's why. It sits perfectly under the arm, just so you know.
It has a shadow sleeve.
It swooshes.
It's perfect.

I'm never as uncertain as when I'm in the trenches of a sewing project ... and never as confident and euphoric as when it turns out good 😅

The red seersucker I got at a fabric flea market five or six years ago, I have made one pinafore out of it but have been sitting on the remainder waiting for the right project. I have some left too! The teal corduroy I got 17m of at a thrift shop and it has been turned into a meditation cushion cover (which is now a puppy couch cushion!) and a winter house coat. I have a little bit left!

I drafted the size based on the fabric I had left and the need for a bag that can carry my yoga stuff when I go camping or to races. No studios for me, I am an #AtHomeYogaPractice soul! The straps are big enough to be comfortably used cross-body, or tied together for over one shoulder. The liner, the outside, the straps, and the top of the bag are all #FrenchSeams Bag is 24" x 19", 43" x 3" straps.

I so pleased with how it turned out! Love the colours! Just the right size!
