#MeMadeMay #WearableToile of the #AshtonTop and PH shorts with #pockets and #FrenchSeams. The garments both took an incredibly long time to because so many steps were firsts and I made every possible. Still, they’re very comfy PJs. I really like the add-on #pockets on the Ashton, since they hold my iPhone very securely. The pockets on the shorts got taken up by the waistband so they aren’t so functional. SO much learning with both of these. #sewing

For me, #FrenchSeams are my favourite way to finish garments. It took a bit of playing around until I felt like I got the measurements right and I'm still working on pockets without puckers but I'm very happy with the interior and exterior when I use them.

Haha, and I'm all about wearing skirts and dresses, especially #MeMade!
Currently working on patterns for pants so that I can really establish the ideal rise for me. Working on PJ shorts first, with #FrenchSeams and #pockets, of course!

#FrenchSeams are the bomb! I still need to figure out how to do them well with pockets but I've figured out the basics and made wearable garments. I'm taking #sewing lessons with a very skilled sewist starting in 10 days and I'm going to try to bring at least 1 unique problem to each class, rather than worrying too much about garment completion. My #MeMadeWardrobe is ample for now. I'm much more concerned about acquiring permanent skills.
A little soul food! Got to spend an afternoon sewing!

A #SelfDrafted lined #YogaBag with #SecondHand fabrics!

The red seersucker I got at a fabric flea market five or six years ago, I have made one pinafore out of it but have been sitting on the remainder waiting for the right project. I have some left too! The teal corduroy I got 17m of at a thrift shop and it has been turned into a meditation cushion cover (which is now a puppy couch cushion!) and a winter house coat. I have a little bit left!

I drafted the size based on the fabric I had left and the need for a bag that can carry my yoga stuff when I go camping or to races. No studios for me, I am an #AtHomeYogaPractice soul! The straps are big enough to be comfortably used cross-body, or tied together for over one shoulder. The liner, the outside, the straps, and the top of the bag are all #FrenchSeams Bag is 24" x 19", 43" x 3" straps.

I so pleased with how it turned out! Love the colours! Just the right size!

I can easily leave these tedious projects for a LOT longer than that! However, I finally finished my #WearableMuslin of a pair of shorts (made with a repurposed sheet) including #FrenchSeams and #pockets. They're wearable but the pocket openings are too tiny to be effective.
@sewing #MeMadeMay2023 My plain brown shorts with #pockets and #FrenchSeams. Technical issues with the selfie stick today.

These shorts have taken me a year to complete with thrifted sheets. Although I’d already made a pair out of flannel from a PJ pattern, I was determined to make these with #pockets and #FrenchSeams. I sewed every seam incorrectly multiple times but I kept picking them out and then going back to them a month or so later. They’re finally complete and very comfortable. Access to the pockets isn't as deep as I’d like but they’re good otherwise.
@sewing Here's a recent make being modelled for #MeMadeMay2023 The pattern was one that I bought for $1 and contains men's and boys' pants and raglan Ts. The flannelette was gifted scraps from someone else's Christmas PJ projects. I made the T for myself as my first knit project and I've made a few PJ shorts now for the grandkids. Super quick and easy project and the last one was all #FrenchSeams. One pair already split so size may need to be upped and seams probably need better reinforcement.
#MeMadeMay2023 The pants were one of my first makes. The rise is all errand there are sadly no #pockets. However, they’re comfy and functional and I spent hours searching the fabric markets in #Seoul before I found cotton prints for sale. The top is an AshtonTop #WearableMuslin made from a used sheet. It’s also sadly pocketless but I’m very happy with the facing, done with the #BurritoMethod. Also did #FrenchSeams so there are no raggedy edges.
