It was a balmy spring like day today. Sadly I have no crocuses to share, apparently they've all been eaten up... I don't see their stripey foliage anywhere. But these daffodils are making their presence known. I really hope they bloom this year. 🌷
Spent the afternoon catch stitching a blind hem and discovered the back hem is shorter than the front by 1/4". I don't know if this is because I added a side vent, or maybe it's because I made another FBA to the front and it somehow pushed the hemline down despite truing the hem... I hate when random shit like this disrupts an otherwise simple project. I'll be thinking about that 1/4" every time I wear it. 🙄
Just got back from a jazz fusion concert tonight. 🎷🎶 It was my first time going out by myself in a long time. I was all dolled up and really enjoyed the show. 🙂 My best advice: never pass on going to an event because you're alone, you miss out on so much!
Apparently it's going to drop by 15° today, it's windy and nippy, and totally cookie baking weather.

Tried to watch Lisa Frankenstein and couldn't make it past a third of the film. While it has lush set and costume design, which is mostly true to the era, the film itself is slow and boring AF. The attempts at humor are weak, the jokes are practically non existent. It's ironically lifeless.
I love the 80's but this didn't hit the mark.
Throwback to last year's siberian squill. It'll only be a few weeks before these beauties reappear. I've already seen hints of our aconite popping through the soil, and the neighbouring snow drops have also made their appearance! Spring is coming. 🙂🌷
I spent a good twenty minutes faffing about with my sewing machine and this nasty polyester sheer fabric. I couldn't get the tension right and the lines were really wobbly. Turns out it was the walking foot. The very tool for slippery fabrics was feeding the fabric into the machine unevenly because it was too aggressive. I switched to a teflon foot and presto, back to sewing. FML.
Anyone else get terrible back, shoulder and/or neck pain when pattern drafting or cutting fabric? I'm trying to take breaks, use good posture techniques, but it seems to happen anyways. I think I'm gonna need physiotherapy. 😐
It's totally weird to come back to Daria as an adult and realize I no longer enjoy watching it at all. Something about a privileged white girl living in the lap of luxury, complaining all the time, ragging on everyone with no one to challenge her views or to push her to grow... It didn't sit well with me.
Nevermind the one note, over caricatured voice work which makes me feel fucking parched.
It has not aged well. Sad times.
