On 11 February, 2026, the the European Regional At-Large Organization (EURALO) hosted a roundtable webinar 'DNSSEC - The "Points of Trust" Concept'. bringing together technical experts, registry operators, and community representatives to discuss DNSSEC as a trust mechanism in today’s D

Routinator, our RPKI validation software, now sees more than 1000 Autonomous System Provider Authorization (ASPA) objects in the wild. These are published by operators to detect and prevent BGP route leaks.

ASPAs can be created in the hosted RPKI services of the RIPE NCC and ARIN, as well as our open-source RPKI Certification Authority software, Krill.

Open-source routing projects such as BIRD, OpenBGPD and FRRouting already offer support for ASPA, while major commercial vendor support is expected later this year.

The @ripencc recently added the ability to specify Autonomous System Provider Authorization (ASPA) objects in their #RPKI dashboard.

Routinator currently sees 322 published ASPAs. 🚀

Today in The AI Journal, we have a contributed article from Brian Cute, Interim CEO, on "The AI-Scam Crisis: Why We Must Act Now."

This piece ties together GCA's work across programs and initiatives to highlight how important it is to act now on two fronts:

1️⃣ First, we must equip people with cybersecurity knowledge. We must make it easier for everyone to implement simple practices that keep them safer online, and hold them accountable to ensure they’re doing their part.

2️⃣ Second, we must make the Internet itself safer. That means addressing malicious domain names used for cybercrime, reducing unwanted Internet traffic (botnets, probes, fake login attempts), and improving routing security.

The AI-Scam Crisis: Why We Must Act Now

Members of the Dutch Internet Standards Platform, Alena Muravska (@ripencc ) and @wouterkobes (@forumstandaardisatie), will take part in #SEEDIG10 on 10 and 11 October in Athens. Together with other panelists, they will share their perspectives and expertise during the session 'Securing the Internet Routing in the SEE Region' on 10 October.

SEEDIG 10 – SEEDIG

In the lead-up to #APNIC60, where Chief Technical Officer Leslie Daigle will give a keynote address, we’re publishing a series of articles that address regionally meaningful threats beyond the well-documented Chinese-origin attacks. Each case offers a different lens on the threat landscape—ranging from geopolitical motivations to financial disruption and targeted espionage. Our goal is to provide context, elevate regional perspectives, and set the stage for deeper discussion during the keynote.

This is the first in that series, covering #APT36, a believed Pakistani state-aligned group that systematically exploits Internet service provider networks to launch cyber operations against Indian targets.

Between April and August 2025, AIDE captured 116,374 incidents on Indian sensors across 75 Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) based in Pakistan.

The findings show how APT36 abused ISP infrastructure, deployed multi-architecture malware, and exploited routing security gaps at scale.

Read all about what we found, and stay tuned for the next installment.

GCA | Global Cyber Alliance | Working to Eradicate Cyber Risk

We’re thrilled to share that the Global Cyber Alliance has received a USD $500,000 contribution from @craignewmark

This will allow GCA to enhance key projects related to its Internet Integrity Program, which brings together key players in Internet infrastructure operations to identify top priorities for addressing cybersecurity issues that cannot be solved by any single actor or subset of actors independently.

That work includes enhancing the Internet’s #routingsecurity infrastructure through MANRS, fighting malicious unwanted Internet traffic through #AIDE, and creating trust in the domain name space with #DomainTrust.

Today we are very proud to announce the new Internet Pollution Index, a new tracker that visualizes global cyber threat activity in real time, helping network operators, policymakers identify and mitigate malicious Internet behavior.

"After seeing what #MANRS has done for improving #RoutingSecurity, I am optimistic that we can find some common agreed norms for how you find and stop this nonsense in your network before it attacks somebody else, before it trashes the reputation of your IP addresses, and before we have a mess in the Internet."

That was Leslie Daigle's final message to the RIPE NCC community at #RIPE90, after presenting the #InternetPollutionIndex and GCA's work around the #AIDE project.
