"On October 14th, Microsoft will impose a new "tax" on Windows 10 users. The multinational will stop free updates for Windows 10 and force millions of users to upgrade to Windows 11.
Up to 400 million laptops in the world will not be compatible with this new OS version
In France, thousands of people, hospitals, public administrations and companies are concerned. Microsoft either forces us to pay a subscription in order to keep usable and secure our devices, or to buy new ones. "

Pretty funny podcast. There's some good points about #GenAI #bullshit. Specifically suggesting genAI in appliances can be a way to deskill people and make them more dependent (you could call it #UserDomestication in the kitchen and the home). Without forgetting possible #ProgrammedObsolescence through dependence on cloud services.

I'm so pissed right now. I've had 2 Fitbits and 1 Pixel Watch, and they have all failed shortly after the US warranty (1 year) expired..
