It’s #FruitFriday! Here are some goodies from the freezer: Sliced and frozen Moonglow pears and whole frozen American persimmons.

We give them a few minutes to warm a bit, then we eat them still frozen — like chunks of sherbet.

I'm looking for hybrid persimmon seeds, scions or tree: Diospyros virginiana x Diospyros kaki. Rosseyanka variety would be ideal: cold tolerance, early ripening. I want to put it near a Fau fau variety with male flowers, for genetical diversity. Where can I find it in Spain/Europe? Is there any hashtag for exchanging seeds or scions?

Belatedly showing off (the leftovers of) a Persimmon Upside-Down Cake I baked a few times last year. I never got any good photos of it whole so you'll have to take me at my word that it was very pretty on the table. Probably the tastiest thing I've made with persimmons too!

This iteration followed the recipe pretty much exactly. The only tweak was smearing some leftover edible glitter on top. Messy, as glitter often is, but glamorous.

#Hoshigaki came out better than I could have imagined, dried as expected and after a couple of weeks in the fridge have a wonderful sugar bloom and taste great.
