Third Quarter Moon Waning in Capricorn

Celtic Tree Month of Hawthorn

Sunny and pleasant

It’s supposed to warm up in the next few days. The evenings have dipped back down into the 30’s, and the heat’s been on.

I haven’t been able to put any more plants out back, but the plants out there are doing fine. I’m still behind in my repotting, which I hope to catch up on and finish this weekend. Sunday and Monday are planting days, so I hope I can finally start the mini cucumbers and eggplants and beans. Otherwise, it’ll be Christmas before they pop.

I ordered three seedlings from Burpee’s. The night-blooming jasmine I ordered a few years ago is so big it makes Audrey II out of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS look like a seedling. I had high hopes.

I ordered (and received) a patchouli, a tomato, and a fennel plant. I only wanted the one patchouli plant, but they wouldn’t allow me to buy a single seedling. I had to buy a bundle, which annoyed the heck out of me. Anyway, they came via UPS. They were packed in plastic within cardboard. I understand the use of hard plastic to protect the plants with the way the carriers drop kick boxes just for the fun of it, but these seedlings were seriously traumatized.

I unpacked them, put them on a saucer, and put them out on the front porch. They were very wet, so I waited a day before watering them again. I was worried neither the tomato nor the fennel would recover. The patchouli was keeping on keeping on, and I think that one will be okay. The tomato is doing better, but the fennel is still undecided. If they survive, I will put them in their home pots when I get back from my trip.

Other than that, things are growing. I’ve had to close the door to the front porch most evenings, but last night I could keep it open. Even when it’s been warm, it hasn’t gotten that humid yet, which is a big help for the humans, although the plants might want some more humidity.

The CSA boxes are a delight, and I love working with them. The level of flavor is so much higher compared to what’s in the grocery store, or even the food co-op. I’m so glad I could participate again this year. It also makes a difference to be able to customize the box.

My trip takes me over the mountain and a bit east of here. I’m looking forward to the differences in foliage!

‘Process should be highly adaptable to challenges and changes of circumstance.’

Winning requires persistence, which requires unrelenting effort, energy, and resources.’

‘Trust, reputation, and positioning are force multipliers in the marketplace.’

‘Weeds tell us the function of persistence is to control the velocity of growth, much like throttle.’

‘Urgency can also be produced by reducing the word count in your communications. The wordier it is, the less urgent and thus the less important it is.’

Urgency is based on first on the knowing the true value of your time, which is many times larger than whatever you’re being paid.’

‘Resilience is a choice we make about outcomes in life.’

Delay kills growth, diminishes our relevance, and devalues our time.’

‘Of all the other attributes of the weed mindset, resilience is a choice we make about outcomes in life.’

We should give our seeds wings– unfair advantages to spread our marketing message- to maximize our reach in our markets.’

Names act as powerful seeds, giving ideas, products, services, and companies greater life and visibility in the marketplace.’

Our brands are our promise to our customers, present and future, for a better life.’
