Bin vor einigen Monaten dann auch mal mobil umgestiegen, auf Ironfox.

Verstehe einer nur, warum #Firefox sich seit Jahren weigert, der Android Version eine Lesezeichen Import-Export Funktion zu spendieren.
Eine state-of-the-art-Funktion.
Seit den 90er Jahren.

The End of Ad-blocking Web Browser Extensions

I would argue that the current web is unusable without using an ad blocker. Without one, using the web becomes an extremely poor experience, having to deal with pages full of ads while your data is sucked by the surveillance industry and shared among thousands of parasitic entities. From a very simplistic technical point of view, ads have to be fetched from remote servers. The addresses of these servers are well known and compiled in many lists created by various communities or individuals.

It's always great to see a real live example on how #Google supports scammers with #manifest3

My dad was browsing Kleinanzeigen.de (germanys craigslist basically) and got a clickbait-ad linking to a Page that looks like tageschau.de (huge publicly funded news-site) which talked about how a german celebrity made thousands from bitcoin using some trading-app.

Due to #manifest3 , basically all the extensions I have ever used in #Chrome will become useless very soon. Not just #uBlockOrigin , but also my favourite download manager #DownThemAll, the cookie manager, the session manager, #Tampermonkey , #EnableRightClick and things like that.

Google Chrome warns uBlock Origin may soon be disabled

As it was written, so it begins.

There is no Manifest v3 compatible uBlock Origin. It is simply not possible.
Firefox has its problems and its controversies and plenty of dumb decisions, but Manifest v3 is not one of them. Going forward, some variant of Firefox will be your only bet if you want robust ad-blocking extensions.
A PiHole can only get you so far. Unless you want to run a full traffic intercepting proxy at home with SSL decryption, you need something at the application layer.

@WinFuture stimmt. Vielen ist es nicht bewusst das #Google mit Werbung und #Tracking Geld verdienen will. Mit Chrome wird sowas verstärkt. Das #Manifestv3 #Manifest3 zeigt ganz klar wo die Richtung hingehen. Meine Meinung dazu. Wer #Chrome und die Derivate nutzt, benötigt kein #ublock_origin #uBlockOrigin #uBO. Und sich beschweren schon gar nicht. Alternative? Ja nämlich #Firefox ☝️

Und ein schöner Nebeneffekt: damit wird ein Gegengewicht zu Chrome geschafft.

So einfach ist das.

@LilahTovMoon #Brave will remain unaffected by the 3.0 change because it does not use easily bypassed extensions to enforce privacy controls and instead relies on an internal Rust-based engine. Barring that there is still no reason to use Firefox since #mullvad is based on the same engine and doesn't come with the #Mozilla baggage. Finally I would like to point out that the impact is wider than just the browser.

Poszła #aktualizacja #Quklook (wcześniej - MS.Search) do wersji 23017 BETA.
Wprowadza ona dwie nowe wyszukiwarki - #Unsplash oraz #Reddit (dzięki @lukaszwojcik za podpowiedź z tym Redditem!).

A poza tym już jest dostępna wtyczka do #Chrome oraz innych przeglądarek, które mają dostęp do Chrome Web Store. Zmienia ona stronę główną oraz stronę nowej karty z domyślnej na Quklook. Dla osób technicznych - tak, wspiera najnowszy #Manifest3.
