It's still wild to me that anyone would willingly identify as 'incel' and I remain deeply suspicious that 'incel' is not the correct word.
They even have a word for it: Vranyo. We hear about the impending collapse every day. Russians do too. We should not underestimate their capacity for suffering. It is not close. We should not relax.
The glimmer of hope for Russians is the far-right parties in Europe. They will look at Macron and think if we can break the coalition next year, we have a chance.
Russia is not a mass of brainwashed zombies despite the hypernormalization (Yurchak). They drink the koolaid because to not drink deeply is to confront the unpalatable realities. Sure some babushkas believe it, most don't. Paranoia is deeply ingrained in the Russian psyche. The dualism of the Russian mind - what you can say in public, and reality told in the private anecdoty, means paranoia for Russians is their resting bitch face.

Paranoia is the default setting for Russians. Orlando Figes "The Whisperers" e.g Stalinism succeeded largely because ordinary citizens internalized the paranoia and reported their neighbors/family. In Andrew and Gordievsky's "The KGB" and Hoffman's "The Million Dollar Spy" Russian intelligence are crippled with bureaucratic bloat and severe paranoia, gathering vast amounts of information only to analyze it poorly because officers are afraid to tell the leadership things they don't want to hear.

Every day we see Ukraine publish conservative figures for verified casualties inflicted on Russians. It tends to hover around 1k. One day this war will end and we will find out how many more casualties are inflicted by Russians on Russians. Where they 'zero' refusniks, where they murder their own wounded, where they call in strikes on themselves, where refuseniks frag their officers or the blocking troops. @meduza will tell you <100k Russians have died in their 'SMO'.
