Linux-Nutzer in der Webstatistik

Bei Caschy ist die aktuelle Betriebssystem-Statistik erschienen und dass Linux eine Verbreitung von knapp über 3% in der Desktop-Nutzung besitzt. Die Server-Nutzung lassen wir hier aus der Diskussion mal raus.

Mal abgesehen davon, dass Webstatistiken von StatCounter so semi sind, beachtet ja kaum jemand, dass Linux-Nutzer oft deutlich mehr Wert auf Privatsphäre legen und daher eine überdurchschnittlich hohe Anzahl der User die Web-Trackings blockiert und somit nicht in die Statistik zählt.

Die Zahl der Blockierer ist auf anderen Betriebssystemen mangels Interesse und Möglichkeiten deutlich geringer und deshalb werden sie viel häufiger gezählt. Eine Messung mittels der User-Agents auf Abruf-Ebene wäre unter Umständen genauer, weil deutlich weniger Endnutzer ihre User-Agent-Kennung ändern.

No, I promise my VPN is doing nothing to your site that you didn't design your site to do when encountering a VPN. It's literally just a diversion through a tunnel to a network just like the one between mine and yours with some encryption at the server end before it sends it to you. If your site can't handle my private information being encrypted, that sounds like a bug you should probably fix.
