@HeyCallMeRed the update will prolly fail coz of some pkgs' signature not being verified, which comes from your pacman keyring having become stale. so, after a long time away, run your update thus:

sudo pacman --needed --noconfirm -S archlinux-keyring && sudo pacman -Syu

if that still doesn't work, there is a "nuclear" option, but hopefully you won't need it

edit: oh yeah, as a wise peep above said, also first review & action any relevant issues since last update in https://archlinux.org/news/

i spend most of my time on my proppa pooter, the tower in my Study. however in colder weather when the Study [SE corner of house, with trees that block direct morning sun] is too chilly til arvos, i use lappy in Sunroom [NE corner of house, big windows E & N, so quite glorious for those morning rays in winter]. but lappy, poor ol' girl, is a 2011 dell xps-15 with semi-dodgy keyboard [green tea incident yonks back, alas] & most unambiguous "battery issues". tis just sad to watch the battery gauge actually begin dropping from the moment i unplug. these days she just squeaks thru to the hour mark. poor dear, she's old n tired.

in unrelated news, geez those fools who anthropomorphise inanimate objects are wollybutts, eh! 🤪️

@LovesTha I'm using Ly and rather like it, precisely because it is a TUI and doesn't require one to be running X/Wayland before one can even log in. I'm using the "Matrix" decoration/animation as the background - it's fun.

@MsDropbear42 I don't even remember what my default browser font is. Obviously it don't bother me much.

On the other hand, I do actually have a favourite terminal font: Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. I don't think I'm likely to change it.

i do exasperate myself sometimes with my changing sensibilities wrt my preferred  #font. i keep toggling twixt #RobotoCondensed, and #NimbusSansNarrow . For the past several weeks i'd set it to the latter, but after a few [or several?] days of dissatisfaction with it, i've now toggled back to the former... yet again. based on history it seems inevitable that in another coupla months i'll likely jump back again.

otoh in #Plasma itself, i do seem reasonably settled with #NotoSansExtraCondensed -- this seems generally to survive much longer before i feel the urge to change it, compared to in my browser.

@jorge when i stumbled across #distrobox some years ago it instantly gripped my imagination as arguably one of the most transformational new #Linux tools in my own Linux lifetime [i've only been a #penguinista since 2014, so remain merely a keen noob]. it's just a brilliant project 💜️

i've been a #penguinista since 2014; i lurve it.

i've been a pacifist for many decades longer, & ain't changing.

regrettably there's a stupid #linux meme too many creep-peeps seem to like using, involving various iterations of #tux carrying a machine gun & wearing over-shoulder ammunition belts. it's not only sickening in its implicit glorification of naked violence, it's also juvenile, but worst of all, it seems such a deplorably merkan vibe 🤮️

from today i begin not just ignoring this idiocy any more, but explicitly blocking accounts using it... & the first of today's candidates has just appeared... so, bye to you, creep-peep!
