If you write a company asking for linux versions for their plugins you can end up becoming their beta tester.

First of all: Fuckyeah!!!

On second thought: is there a proper way of testing linux vst3 - log files, terminal output aso - or just random knob hitting on different DAWs/systems and see if it crashes?

And third of all: FU#&YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

#linuxaudio #linuxAudioProduction #vst3

Hmm, also the reactorDSP space plugin crashes yabridge. From what i know this is a simple IR loader but with IRs from Lasse Lammert's gear (which was the reason to buy foe me). What is it about newer plugins that yabridge can't keep up with!?!?

Introduction

Nerdy Tim

I made a call for help regarding Pipewire recently. And got some retoots. Thx for that.

Sadly i have to push that issue again.

I run Open Sound Meter which comes as an AppImage.

Issue:
Somehow OSM doesn't connect to Pipewire but to the audio interface directly. So it doesn't show up in the pw patchbay.

There was a suggestion to configure pipewire-alsa. I found zero helpful information on that matter. Just the general documentation that lists a lot but tutors not so much.

Any hint appreciated.

Hey LinuxAudio fellows.

I have trouble sharing an interface input between Ardour and OpenSoundMeter (AppImage).

Debian Trixie, Pipewire is installed. Somehow only one of the two (the one i start first) is shown in the pipewire patchbay.

Noob me is stuck and needs help.

(I also wrote a post in the Ardour forum. This is just to get folks outside the Ardour community.)

Moving to Linux!? … again??? – eighty-music.com

I found my first post on renoise forums - from 2008.

I think I actually downloaded first Renoise for Linux beta 1.9.1 in 2008 and then bought Renoise 2.0 for Linux for ~60€ - which lasted till next full version 3.0, when I paid another ~70€ for next major version (until 4.0), which is still ongoing. So I spent less then 150€ in 16 years for a DAW that works on Linux (with JACK/PipeWire) and had a few crashes here and there but is rock solid and packed with amazing -- and unique! -- features - some of them rather experimental but fully functional - a true marvel of a software if you ask me.

If I'd need to decide what to take on an island without internet, it would be #SuperCollider, #Renoise, and #Ardour on an Linux laptop.

(BTW I used ScreamTracker 2)

Day 48 done. I am not thinking about work at all for the next 36 hours.

There will be #LinuxAudioProduction of #ElectronicMusic that may be #BonkWave or #NotBonkWave in #BitwigStudio.

And since it is #Caturday here is the late and amazing Ms Monster. ❤️‍🩹

My #LinuxAudioProduction journey is being hampered by erratic GUI response in #BitwigStudio

I’m having issues with adjusting modulator knobs on #LinuxMint v22.2. They respond erratically.

Is this a #Wayland vs #X11 thing? I’ve got the most recent Nvidia drivers installed, FWIW.

Nearly vanilla install (updates, QuickEMU, Bitwig, VCVRack, and DaVinci Resolve being all that’s installed).

How can I get my modulators to be easier/smoother to control?
