If you're into cyberpunk literature you might recognize the title from Neuromancer. If it's an inspiration for the music is anyones guess; I don't generally make music clearly inspired by things, but often find a kind of connection afterwards, in more or less mysterious ways.

Haven't done much music-making lately. Not since the latest #Bonkwave compilation track.

First I jumped into a C++ project on a whim, and then started an ambitious music-video project, for which I'm currently learning 3D animation.

It's fun working on a project where I get to involve many skills, and try out some new ones:

Music, pixel-art (still and animated), photography, graphics-programming, 3D-modelling and animation, video-editing, ascii-art, retro-computing and ROM-hacking(!).

Day 1: “Downfall“

The #bonkwave song that I wrote back in October, that started it all, and that I only decided to include at the last moment.

The guiding idea for this one musically was to try to compose something with a lot of…silence.

What I like (🎵❤️): how simply moving from Dm to Dm7 in the middle section (“pretending is phony”) changes everything, and also the vocal harmonies in that section.
