It's not a miracle cure. I have a talk event live recording that needs to be processed quickly, and its not for publication and also not paid extra… yet as often with live stereo recordings, the levels go up and down way too much.

For speakers who had used the microphone more or less properly I can find a setting that works well. For those holding the mic towards the belly button while moving their head a lot,… well, can't rescue those.

I'd really love to test a #JüngerAudio #LevelMagic unit but I can't sell my car to afford one used…

As always, using @x42 #EBU128 radar meter to check things, and #Voxengo #Elephant as final limiter via #Yabridge. In #Ardour this time.

I rarely use vocals in my music these days, but today I needed to test two mics on #LinuxAudio, and I found out the following:

I need to set Block size to 128 samples, for the latency to be low enough for software monitoring.

I very quickly need to reach for my Yabridge toolbox, to get the right sound

Manley Voxbox (UADx) doesn’t save the settings when closing, so I need to find an alternative to that, which will be one of the Brainworx Channelstrips.

I’m really happy for #Wine and #Yabridge

Was very excited about rhe new bogren digital IR loader but it crashes wirh yabridge and i don't really wanna get used to a plugin that doesn't do Linux.

Anyone managed to get it running and has a hint?

Ahh damn, drawback at the TONEX thingy. Yes it load but it doesn't react to mouse/keyboard input as a stand-alone app. the vst seemed to work.

Don't know what i did different but ... TONEX seems to work now. Will test the capture tomorrow and if that really works i can switch to Linux for my audio.

Seems like i just need to get iK TONEX running then i'm mostly Linux ready. This sucker is not working yet sadly. Any hints on that?

Also some minor drawbacks becaus iLok that i could live without if necessary.

Made some progress at the Linux audio production yabridge wine topic. Buut now my "ah it's just for proof of concept, 250gb are fine" ssd is to small for tons n tons of sample libraries.

The windows ssd has enough space but do i really want to switch the OS around? Does windows handle diskdumping well? 😬
