The last of the showers having possibly passed through, in a throwback to our days labouring on building sites over 40 years ago ( when we had little choice) inwardly debating the wisdom of taking a pickaxe to open up the bottom of a waterlogged trench. For digging/beauty mask aficionados we're going down another foot or so through a mixture of brick (mostly London stock), lime mortar, and (Oxford comma) London clay.
