Everyone should take a moment to appreciate just how absolutely wild the #RankinBass #Christmas specials actually are.
Like, these aren't just retellings, they have deep lore, with all sorts of wild stuff going on. Like, in #Rudolph's origin story alone, he winds up with #Frosty's family on the "Isle of Misfit Toys", then has to return to rescue his childhood girlfriend from a yeti, which ends up getting all of its teeth pulled out by some guy who trains it to bend candy canes or something?? It's been a bit since I watched that one in particular, but it has less deviation than the most of them... "Christmas in July" has Jack Frost and evil wizards and ancient goddesses and shit, all because Rudolph and Frosty wanted to watch fireworks with the family.
They were asked to make a 1-hour TV special off of some one minute songs about Frosty and Rudolph, and delivered this simarillan level errata next to "not being evil is easy: just put one foot in front of the other."
