Looks like the James Franklin era at #VirginiaTech is stuck in the mud.

I can't claim to know the reason the BOV is pushing out Tim Sands, but it is not for the reason Kaine thinks. Sands was their perfect little puppet as evidenced by the BOV renewing his contract with a 200k raise before this. Something else is going on.

Sen. Tim Kaine suggests VT President Tim Sands may have been forced out

Virginia Junior US Senator Tim Kaine says in a statement he is deeply troubled by the sudden departure of Virginia Tech President Tim Sands.  During a press conference this morning, Kaine said this action has the earmarks of previous well-publicized efforts to oust Presidents at other Virginia publi

Hokie Time

The key to this game is going to be the interior run game of both teams. Tech has a history of getting gashed (although, the past 2 games they have done a remarkable job against 2 teams that run the ball quite well), and David WIlson is one of the top backs in the ACC, if not the country. If the Jackets can keep the Hokies less than 4.0 ypp on the ground, that means GT is in good shape. This means that not only must Tech contain Wilson and force predictable 3rd down situations, they must […]

The Mars Volta – Frances the Mute

The Marts Volta - Frances the Mute Well, Tuesday, March 1st marks the release of one of MY most anticipated albums in quite some time. The Mars Volta will be putting out their 2nd full length album, Frances the Mute. I got a hold of a pre-release copy a few months ago, and despite the crappy quality of the version I found, it has been a steady member of my playlist lately. While only containing 5 tracks, the album spans almost 80 minutes, and does not disappoint if you’re a Mars Volta fan. […]

iPhoto Books

I bought iLife 05 when it came out, and recently decided to give the ‘book feature’ a try. Basically, you can assemble a photo album, lay it out, and pick a theme for it, and they’ll print you a hard bound book for 29 bucks. Not a bad idea if you think about shipping costs, printing costs, etc. Each page after the original 20 they give you are a dollar each. So, you could end up spending a ton of cash on one of these things, but I decided to go with a conservative approach the first […]

Deception.

So, a funny thing happened to me last night. While going through my Mint site statistics, I noticed that one particular site was bouncing quite often – all while trying to visit one specific page. The way my blog is set up, any 404 redirects back to my main page, so the only information I really had to go on was the referring site. After clicking on this site and going through a few of the pages, I noticed that it was a coffee / restaurant review site, specifically for the Orlando, […]
