It was opt-in last time I interacted with them, but it doesn't seem to be the case this year, getting forced through a prompt of saying “In Australia my voice identifies me”.
Why am I calling the ATO you ask? Well, because of a weird scammy call that seems to have been explicily set-up to record the answerer's voice (and knew my name).
Surely those two things are unrelated?
