When their parents ripped two young sisters from their privileged lives, gave them fake names, and took them on the lam, they thought it was because their father was in trouble with the IRS. It would be years before they learned the truth about his life of crime.

Follow-up on "WTF..." (June 4, 2026). I have remembered why I have never accepted the offer of membership in Experian's IdentityWorks after previous security breaches. Their multiple-page privacy policy states that they can collect reams of information about me and share it with their affiliates/3rd parties for targeting/ advertising, etc.

I could maybe opt out of some of it, but that's somewhat obscure and involves contacting various Google and other entities. (I've been trying so hard to separate myself from Google.)

However, I like the sound of their using their technology to search "the web, chat rooms & bulletin boards 24/7 to identify trading or selling of your personal information on the Dark Web."

It all makes me tired.

New demonym just mutated: gender/queer.
As in genderqueer or ... Sexqueer?
I gotta be honest, I still adore the simpliciry of MOGAI, tbqh.
Speakable, categorised, and (not completely, unfortunately, but mostly) inclusive.
I know queer isn't something every member of mistreatment person interactions is comfortable with.
There probably isn't "a" solution.
I do like gender/queer for most cis hets and MOGAI for in-group comms.

Storing passwords in Active Directory description fields is a rookie mistake that hackers are eager to exploit, and one hacker did just that with alarming ease. It was disturbingly simple for them to get their hands on sensitive information.
