It’s almost 5 and I may try to get up for a little while. I’ve been in bed all day after being unable to sleep despite being exhausted. Still feeling exhausted.

Just ordered groceries from my phone. A few frozen meals, some fruit and snacks…

I’ve been also using the service #HungryRoot which I’m really liking as it simplifies meals by sending mostly cooked items that you put together with pretty minimal effort. I’m lucky to be able to afford this and enough meal replacement drinks to cover one meal every day. This is how I’m getting by right now. Alongside maybe some takeout once a week. Most of my money goes to feeding myself in a way that works for me. I simply don’t feel well enough to cook beyond the simplest of recipes right now.

I tried HungryRoot.com at a discount, and I got my first delivery this week. They offer mostly-prepped meal kits as well as groceries.

I've tried two meals so far and I am delighted by the quality of the ingredients and the variety in the recipes.

I have some food restrictions and they can accommodate any single one; stacking them narrows the field a lot more, but you can customize & do some substitutions. I'm tentatively pleased. 1/n

I get the same kind of result for #EveryPlate, so this isn't a fluke. This is a their marketing plan. Trick people. This one experience tells me everything I need to know about Hungryroot.

Whole attraction of #HungryRoot for me as someone #aging with a #disability was the automaticity -- and, of course, the attraction of *healthy*, easy recipes.

Alas, the recipes are not always healthy. You either get huge hunks of meat multiple times a day. . . or none. Some recipes have 800 calories per serving! one week they sent me recipes for four meals including red meat. (And me a 70-y-o female.)

I'm thinking it's a good option for someone who wants to use a responsible company, someone who finds it difficult to shop & cook for whatever reason. yes? no?

Got my #Hungryroot box today, and they were not kidding about filling your fridge and pantry. Mostly the fridge, lol. I had planned on the blackened pork loin, but one of the loins was still frozen, so tomorrow will be Blackened Pork Loin with roasted rainbow carrots & pea snaps. Probably will also make potatoes to go in with the carrots, as *some* people in my house are unreasonable about their veggies.
