Perimenopause, the transitional phase leading up to menopause, can be filled with a variety of physical and emotional challenges. Women may experience symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and changes in sleep patterns. While these changes are natural, they can be overwhelming, often leading to stress and anxiety. This is where meditation comes in as a powerful tool for managing the journey.

Body Awareness

Meditation encourages mindfulness, helping women develop a deeper connection with their bodies. By focusing on the present moment, individuals can cultivate acceptance and self-compassion as they navigate the ups and downs of perimenopause. Through guided meditations, one can learn to release tension and embrace the transformative nature of this period in life.

Regulation

The practice of meditation also aids in emotional regulation, allowing women to process their feelings without becoming overwhelmed. Techniques such as deep breathing can soothe the nervous system and reduce anxiety, helping to balance the emotional waves that accompany hormonal fluctuations.

Connection

Moreover, meditation fosters a sense of community and connection to the experiences of other women. Many guided meditations explore themes of resilience and empowerment, reminding individuals that they are not alone in their journey. This collective support can be profoundly comforting.

Embracing Change

Incorporating meditation into your daily routine can be a nurturing way to embrace the process of perimenopause. By creating space for reflection and self-care, you can transform the challenges into opportunities for growth and self-discovery. As you navigate this significant life transition, let meditation illuminate your path, providing clarity and tranquility along the way.

In this nurturing guided meditation, you will embark on a journey of self-compassion and grace as you navigate the waves of perimenopause. By settling into a peaceful space and connecting with your body, you will engage in deep breathing exercises that release tension and invite calming energy. You will visualize your hormones flowing harmoniously, experience the supportive presence of nature, and affirm your transformation through gentle, empowering phrases. This meditation aims to cultivate a sense of connection to the wisdom of those who came before you, while providing a tranquil haven to soothe anxieties about the future. As you embrace each moment with patience, you will emerge with renewed confidence and resilience, ready to honor your unique journey ahead.

Stop. Hot flash.

🔥

Past Stacie didn’t want to do dishes. I’ve been trying to do them for about 2.5 hours.

But then I received a call from a friend I’ve been trying to connect with. She has to have cancer surgery in October and wanted to plan my birthday dinner before that since she’ll be recovering from surgery that’s scheduled 2.5 weeks before my birthday.

Then I received 3 deliveries. I’ve done most of the dishes but I need to rest before finishing.

I’m hot. And not in a good way.

🔥🥵🔥

#HotFlash

I wish I could direct the heat from a hot flash to my feet

#Raynauds #HotFlash

Oh, the joy of having a Raynaud’s attack in my toes while simultaneously having a hot flash!

How can my toes feel like icicles while there is a furnace in my head?!

You’d think they’d cancel each other out. Sadly, you’d be wrong.

🥶🥵

Oh! Speaking of sheets. Those of y'all who deal with #menopause or #perimenopause or other #HotFlash or #NightSweat inducing conditions- what do you do in terms of bedsheets? Do you have any fabric, any brand, etc. that you find makes you more comfortable when the temperature demons strike?

I had a hot flash and it reminded me that my mom was amazed that she has a daughter experiencing this now. She doesn’t feel like that’s possible.

My poor mom has been experiencing hot flashes for more than 40 years since her hysterectomy. My gynecologist said that’s not typical.

During one of my mom’s hot flashes, she said:

I’m having a hot flash. My eyes are sweating.

I burst out laughing imagining sweat dripping from her eyeballs. She meant her eyelids. 🥵 👁️
