Ghost Car is a band that combines a few old-fashioned threads in their music, starting with the kind of jumpy, nervy punk in the mold of The Slits or X Ray Specs, more on the angsty side than angry. They also directly mainline classic bubble gum pop, with their uptempo, infectiously sweet sound and a classic organ tone that weaves through the songs. Add into the mix, the band's unabashedly out there garage esthetics led by a crunchy guitar that keeps their angular melodies and staccato delivery anchored on a well played '60s foundation. There is a lot going on in their music, for sure, but all these parts seem to be fitting in nicely with one another and creating a joyful party atmosphere that is quite easy to get lost in.
