Quite a legend in the Austin area, singer-songwriter Bob Schneider is an artist with a remarkable track record both in terms of his productivity and versatility. He has quite a facility with the different genres that make up modern American pop landscape, often infused with a sense of humor. There is a big body of his work that moves along a soft path in a folk-inspired direction. Then there is the rest of his catalog: a patchwork of mainstream rock with heartland tones, funk, country, rap, even an occasional foray towards the Caribbean or Brazilian shores, because why not? He comes close to being an omnivore in that respect. He has also recorded a bluegrass crossover album (The Texas Bluegrass Massacre, 2025) and an electronically loaded album dedicated to Austin F.C.
