I am convinced that the #CDMX subreddit now gives spoof recommendations to anyone who asks for dining advice in English.
Stop sending me email ffs!!!

I read 10+ comments about why bikes should require license and insurance — on a post about an “ebike" being hit by a driver in a parking lot. (Commenters said it was actually a disabled person on a mobility scooter!!)

I then commented “license and insurance requirements don’t seem to be helping” on a post about a car crash.

By the dozens, the group members blame the mayor, the transplants, the leftists, the ebikes, undocumented immigrants, dark clothing etc etc for bike and pedestrian incidents.

The second you suggest that drivers may be to blame, BANNED.

Looks like I just got banned from the #UlsterCountyNY fire/rescue incidents FB group for making the *same type of comment* about a car crash that they routinely allow by the dozen for bike crashes. Drivers are not thick-skinned.

Now I have virtually no reason to use FB 😂 -- except for my beloved Mexican toy truck collectors' group.

Then concern trolls hop on -- whether in person or in the comments section -- saying bike lanes and Citibike docks deprive the elderly and disabled from curb access.

But NYC has over 3 million curbside parking spots, and those are all just fine.

In #nyc, the fire department openly opposes just about any #safestreets design. You'd think that the fire department would support:

1. "Express lanes" for emergency vehicles (as DOT designs them as emergency routes)
2. Increased safety, fewer injuries for constituents

But what they really care about is parking for themselves. They can't openly say that, so they say their concerns are about "safety," e.g. 'we need this ballroom for national security.'
