The 29th is my actual share date for this promo, so I'm sharing again. BEER POUR, my showbiz novel/political satire, is featured in the Indie Book Library Collection, which will run all year. This super promo features various genres by indie authors, so I was delighted that BEER POUR was included. BEER POUR is a satirical romp where the U.S. Vice President uses a beer-pouring contest to secure international trade--while two eccentric directors battle it out for the advertising rights. Imagine VEEP meets Mad Men at Oktoberfest. I happen to love barcodes. Good night, Gracie. https://books.bookfunnel.com/2026indiebooks/8nsg1psqf3

The #DragonBall "Super Dragon Ball Heroes" spin-off is... strange. The story comes from a game, was adapted into a strange web series, but also Manga - and the more I follow it the less convinced I am about it. But the completionist in me has been winning and today this is my #fridayreads.

I am also reading 'What We Are Seeking' by Cameron Reed.

This is the sort of beautiful thought-provoking book that makes me really love science fiction. It's definitely on the slower more introspective side of things, heavily reminiscent of le Guin and Leckie.

This will be in contention for my favorite book of the year, but there is Spooky Reads 2026 on the horizon and a new Claire North book in October.

Speaking of LLMs! This week I'm listening to 'Children of Memory' by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
I have seen reviews and comments that think it's a step down from the previous books in the series. I really really like it though.
But LLMs. The corvids in this book have essentially evolved into biological LLMs and a part of the book is spent determining if they're actually sentient or not. They're delightful characters though as they satirize generative-AI.

Escape Pod 1046: EDIE (Part 1 of 2)

High above Europa, a lonely traveller reached the end of her journey. A spacecraft the size of a school bus, with two solar panels like giant silicon wings, slipped into orbit above Jupiter’s ice…
