I am also just at the end of 'Children of Memory' by Adrian Tchaikovsky on audio.

I think my current unpopular SF opinion is that this may be my favorite title so far among his 'Children of Time' series. And it's the ending that sealed it for me. I rather quite enjoy the way this book all came together by the end. I also really love the Corvids as characters.

This week I'm reading 'Roadside Picnic' by Boris and Arkady Strugatsky.

It is this month's SF book club selection and it's been a really excellent read so far. Interesting world, interesting characters, and a nice writing style.
I realized this afternoon as I was reading that it reminds me a lot of 'The Witcher' novels in both style and plot, despite them being clearly different genres.

Good morning. My #FridayReads is The Beheading Game by Rebecca Lehmann. #Books

For #fridayreads today, a return to @pluralistic , this time non-fiction.

While reading this 2022 book, several times I got the impression that "this could have been written 20 years before" (or, more to the point, lament that we did not learn the lesson back then), but at the same time the book is still as relevant (if not more) today than it was when it was published.

This week I'm still reading The Traitor's Gambit (of the Wilderlore series) to my son and today I will finish The Gate of the Feral Gods for personal reading.
