I am also listening to the end of 'The Furthest Station' by Ben Aaronovitch and will probably be starting 'Lies Sleeping' on my way home from the astronomy lecture tonight.

I've already said how much I love the Rivers of London books, and this one is just as delightful and filled with delightful ghosts!

This week I'm reading 'Radiant Star' by Ann Leckie.

It's slow and lovely and everything that Leckie does so well (I'm reading about water treatment on an alien planet right now). To go with my usual water-related comparison to reading, it's like soaking in a warm bath, where sometimes the water is a little too hot in places.

I feel that this book integrates some of the ideas she had for 'The Raven Tower' stories, but they fit better with her SF universe.

Good morning. My #FridayReads is The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff.

#FridayReads Damned if I Do by Percival Everett
It was a slow start, but I'm a couple hours into the audiobook for The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo and the story is starting to pick up the pace. I love history but am not particularly familiar with Inquisition-era Spain (or am I? Some themes are, unfortunately, playing out today in the US), so this is a learning experience for me. The Jewish perspective is particularly interesting. And the magic. The magic helps. 😎 #Bookstodon #FridayReads #Books #Fiction @bookstodon
My #fridayreads, courtesy of @[email protected] How about you?

A classic in feminist literature, published in 1929. The essay A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf. Not an easy read, but I'm happy I picked it up.

"A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction."
