Trump lancia insulti senza precedenti al Papa, ma nemmeno questo è riuscito a scuotere la “madre cristiana”. C’è voluta quasi una giornata perché Meloni pronunciasse mezza parola di condanna.

Gentile lettrice, Meloni vede i suoi amici crollarle intorno con Trump che deraglia paurosamente e Orbàn trombato in Ungheria. E in Italia nessuno l’aiuta. Tajani è desaparecido, forse è ancora ad Arcore, sequestrato dalla famiglia-azienda. Arriva Salvini e dice che non è lecito attaccare il Papa, però tutti sanno che lui attaccava Papa Francesco tre volte la settimana. Giorgia quindi è sola e non ce la fa. Ieri mattina, dopo il post contro Leone XIV, aveva fatto un comunicato augurando al Papa buon viaggio in Africa e auspici per la pace e la fine di tutte le guerre, senza mai nominare Trump. Credeva di aver dato il solito colpo alla botte e al cerchio e invece l’hanno sgamata tutti, quasi certamente anche in Vaticano. Conte chiede: “Meloni che fa? Anche stavolta non approva e non condanna?”. A quel punto, nel pomeriggio, Giorgia emette un nuovo comunicato in cui finalmente prende un po’ le distanze dall’amico Trump, però con la furbizia di far credere che lo avesse già fatto in mattinata mentre se ne era ben guardata. Nel testo pomeridiano dice: “Pensavo che il senso della mia dichiarazione di questa mattina fosse chiaro, ma lo ribadisco con maggiore chiarezza. Trovo inaccettabili le parole di Trump nei confronti del Santo Padre. Il Papa è il capo della Chiesa Cattolica ed è giusto e normale che invochi la pace e condanni ogni forma di guerra”. Che fatica, povera Giorgia, e nessuno che l’aiuti.

Dear reader, Meloni sees her friends collapsing around her with Trump derailing frighteningly and Orbán trampled in Hungary. And in Italy no one helps her. Tajani has disappeared, perhaps he is still at Arcore, kidnapped by the family-company. Salvini arrives and says it is not legitimate to attack the Pope, but everyone knows that he attacked Pope Francis three times a week. Giorgia is therefore alone and can’t cope. Yesterday morning, after the post against Leo XIV, she issued a statement wishing the Pope a good trip to Africa and hopes for peace and the end of all wars, never mentioning Trump. She believed she had delivered the usual punch to the gut and in a circle and instead they exposed her, almost certainly also in the Vatican. Conte asks: “Meloni what is she doing? Even this time she doesn't approve and doesn't condemn?” At that point, in the afternoon, Giorgia issued a new statement in which she finally takes some distance from her friend Trump, but with the cunning of making it appear that she had already done so in the morning while keeping a watchful eye. In the afternoon text she says: “I thought the sense of my statement this morning was clear, but I reiterate it with greater clarity. I find Trump’s words towards the Holy Father unacceptable. The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church and it is right and normal for him to invoke peace and condemn all forms of war.” What a struggle, poor Giorgia, and no one to help her.
