"Universities are centres of knowledge...that generate a wealth of information profoundly relevant to the public sphere. One example of this valuable research is information pertaining to climate change."

A short blog from Tatjana Baleta on how she's engaged students and staff in her climate focused residency at the University of Exeter, including some great tips: https://ow.ly/EUWR50QqZOm

At #ExeterUni we have 5 #ucustrike pickets across four campuses, stretching from Devon down to the far reaches of Cornwall! Turnout is better than expected and the solidarity from the public is great! This is a pic from our joint #FalmouthUCU and #ExeterUCU campus picket at 9am. 👍💪🌥️🌥️

1st of 3 #ucustrike days today. An anecdote:

While tabling for UCU in the Forum at #ExeterUni a student came over to find out more. She was from the UAE and told us the reason she came to study in the UK was precisely because of ‘this sort of thing’. She supported the right to strike and LGBTQ+ rights, and not only because she and others don’t have the same privileges back home.

Our labour rights, like pay and pensions, are being eroded. The students understand and support us. 💪❤️🖤

I have two brilliant teenage boys 🤦‍♂️🙎‍♂️who love math🧮 and economics🤑; One is at #ExeterUni studying #Economics.

My wife (20th anniversary today!) ❤️ is a climate #scientist at the National Oceanography Centre #NOC🌊 in #Southampton; She's heading off to Egypt for #Cop27🌍 this week.

I relax by taking millions of photos🤳📸 including recently from my DJI Mavic 3 Pro #drone🚁.

We live in the beautiful Hampshire town of Whitchurch which has a Silk Mill and is near a gin distillery!

A bit confused by all this but here goes! I post about #archaeology #experimentalarchaeology #heritageeducation #traditionalcrafts #hedgebothering and ok, #tea and #cats occasionally.

Currently finishing an experimental archaeology MSc at #exeteruni.

Err, that'll do for now, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it sometime soon.
