Josef 'Jeff' SipekOn an #oscilloscope the waveform looks somewhere between a sine and a triangle wave. The 3.5Vpp is probably pushing the transistor a bit too hard and causing distortion. Either way, getting 7.55MHz with essentially no effort is pretty cool.
7.55MHz and 6.4uH yields a capacitance of 69pF. The tester design uses two 100pF capacitors making approx. 50pF in parallel with the crystal. The breadboard and wires could easily provide the other 19pF. #elecronics
