New flight controller! We can rebuild her! We’ve got the technology. Kinda nice that the cap is now integrated to the power cable rather than hanging from two long leggies off the corner of the FC.

Some great progress on the rebuild! This has gone from PnP to a kit build in a hurry (with some custom parts). Seeing it light up and hearing the motors do their little ditty feels great!
I’m still having a weird problem with the ELRS radio - it’s connecting and transmitting telemetry but it’s not receiving any inputs. Any ideas on what could be causing that? (I already reversed TX and RX which are wrong in the photos.)
Bonus start up video, sweet sounds to my ears!
The VTX also works, though apparently I mounted the camera upside down - but that’s easy to fix :)
She liiivvves! (After burning crispy) Tomorrow taking her out on a proper flight.
Took way more effort and times to dismantle and rebuild the quad than I'd expected over a period of about a week. Learning lots about electronics and quad building ^^;
I even ended up discovering a bug in Betaflight 4.4.2 firmware while I was at it. I guess I now need to figure out where to report it.
@aviancer Always good to hear those ESC startup sounds!
I customised mine a little while ago so now my quad is a portable rick-rolling device.
@aviancer I'll probably get tired of it myself pretty soon and change it to something else!
I haven't had a chance to fly with anyone else yet. I need to investigate some of the local clubs, but none of them are very nearby.
My son is very interested and I'm hoping to get him flying too, but based on his one attempt so far I need to get him some more sim time so he learns to apply less than full stick deflections...
@spacelizard Sounds like it'd be a great time to spend some time together with your son ^^ Also sims have multiplayer too.
It's kind of funny, coming from fixed wing general aviation, I've actually had to teach myself to use way more stick deflection with quads than I feel comfortable using. So kind of the inverse problem :)
