I'm particularly interested in the intersections between discourse, materiality, and class struggle in the workplace.

Other interests include textual trajectories, deixis, textual agency, language ideologies, metapragmatics, stance and identity in discouse, chronotopes, and resistance in discourse.

Things that fascinate me include verbal aggression, rhetorics of #nostalgia, the construction of #migration discourses across time & culture, and non-literal language use (especially #metaphor & #irony)
I combine #CorpusLinguistics with more qualitative methods to get different perspectives on language patterns

I am currently working on a rather interdisciplinary #Habilitation project on the history of knowledge and literature of #boxing that is based on a reconstruction and analysis of German-language boxing discourse and its (discourse)semantics from 1750 to the present. Hi, I am a linguist with a background in media linguistics and discourse analysis. I study how culture and society are constituted through discursive and media practices. I am interested in the integration of semiotic, mediality-oriented, and pragmatic analyses of (political) discourse (mostly in German), both corpus-based & hermeneutic.
