Sono ancora indecisa fra i due OS.
Sto testando Opensuse KDE e Mint Cinnamon sul mio portatile, che in realtà è fisso sulla scrivania con un monitor esterno.
Progetto per l'estate di demicrosoftizzarmi, peccato non possa dire lo stesso sul degoogolizzarmi perché la scuola ci cala dall'alto dei bellissimi account google coi quali dobbiamo lavorare.
Si accettano consigli.

Jede menge Potenzial Unabhängigkeit von den proprietären Silos zum Thema zu machen und druck auszuüben, denkt bis zur nächsten Wahl mal nach wen ihr wählen wollt 😉 und helft uns gerne auch auf den Wahlzettel zu kommen(wir müssen quasi jedes mal wieder UUs sammeln).

New blogpost, sharing my work and testing for online file management solutions. Open source mostly, here and there some things aren't. My solution for my needs may not be yours but this is just what I'm doing, or have tried, up to now. I'm liking Tiny File Manager, though I've tweaked it a bit to use ViewerJS not Google doc viewer.

It is done! I no longer own any device with Windows.

Installing Fedora on my laptop was very easy, and basically everything worked out of the box.
I never tried a pure GNOME desktop before, but so far it's been a pleasant experience. It works really well with as multi-touch trackpad, but I wish I could set Natural/Traditional scrolling direction for three-finger scrolling independently of two-finger scrolling. I miss Pop!_OS's tiling extension, too.

But overall, I'm excited to use my laptop again! Good riddance to Windows!

I have a laptop that "doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11". But it's still in great condition.
Since it is the only Windows machine I still own, my plan was to keep it on Windows 10 until support for it ended in 2025, and then install some flavor of Linux on it, finally completing my transition to Linux-only.

Thing is, the more time passes the less I need Windows. Nowadays, I never use it - there's nothing that I want to do on a computer that I can't do in Linux.
In fact, Windows is now actively discouraging me from using my laptop at all. I just don't want to deal with it. And having to also deal with multiple slow updates that require multiple restarts every time I turn it on just makes it worse.
