Michigan installs the US’s first wireless EV charging public roadway

inductive-charging copper coils were installed below the road’s surface. The coils will charge EVs equipped with special receivers as they drive over the road. The road’s charging segments transfer electricity wirelessly through a magnetic field, which is then transferred as energy to the vehicle’s battery, charging it.

The urban two-step is quite aggravating at times. Our local street has been fighting its way back from being a car-sewer for years and had made some progress. However a traffic light was just installed to replace a long-standing crosswalk. This re-prioritizes drivers by making pedestrians wait. I have a proposal to try to mitigate the problem and re-prioritize walkers.
