Time for yet another #chinup #challenge. My record, 16 reps, is from years ago and I’m not aiming to beat that. Now it’s all about consistency: I’ll try to reach 1,000 chinups in 100 days or less. I started on Feb 20th and did my 93th–100th chinups yesterday, on day #10.

The DIY setup in the picture is where I usually exercise. A bit shaky, but works. Those are old wooden high-jump uprights, with decking screws holding the rusty crossbar in place. During this week, because of holiday traveling, I’m forced to use rings instead. Even more shaky, and slightly different muscles at work, but chinups nonetheless (because I make the rules).

Set 2 today. Hooray! I finally can do some chin-ups again after nursing a muscle injury for three weeks. 14 reps ain't 20, but it's better 'n zero! Age 68.

Last set, 7 of 7, for 103 chin-ups today, nearly half with 5 lbs of ankle weight. Form is paramount!

1949 pulls (all grips) year-to-date, which is on track for 7600-plus for the year. Four years ago, I was a blubbering blubberball taking an ambulance ride to the emergency room. Carpe diem!
