In Entebbe, Israel rescued 102 hostages with only 3 hostage fatalities (one of whom was murdered in the hospital in Uganda following the operation), and one military fatality (famously, Yoni Netanyahu עה״ש, brother of Bibi).
The Entebbe operation involved about 100 Israeli commandos: roughly the same as the number of #hostages. And of course there was a chance Israel could lose everybody: all the soldiers and all the hostages. But they took the risk in order to deny the #terrorists any benefit from their actions.
Now it seems that we do both: we sacrifice precious lives, strain our relations with the world, and tax the economy — and in the end, the terrorists get their reward anyway. From the terrorists' POV, that's a pretty strong ROI. 2/
