I remember sending away for a #BeOS 4.(something) demo CD and being amazed. But it never swept the home market like Wintel, or the corpo market as a high-end workstation like #Sun or #SGI, or a rapid-development platform beloved by academia like #NeXT. Thank goodness for #HaikuOS.

What Adobe is doing with the cancellation of Animate should be illegal. Animators are livid atm.
Unfortunately most foss tools aren't as good as Animate to replace it (no, Grease Pencil doesn't quite do the same and Krita/Synfig/Pencil2d/OpenToonz aren't as feature-rich), but Moho is an excellent piece of software. First created for the #BeOS back in 1999, I remember using it back then. In 2007 it even had a #Linux version.

VLC 3.0.23 now released for Haiku, showcasing 8 simultaneous playing matroska demo videos, and dragging one video over another video (both playing at the same time).
One thing that made BeOS stand out in all OS's at that time and I still think some other OS's would choke on today. :)
