Catch of the Day - Good Friday Edition: Of Ataris and Crazy Emulators! 🕹️🦇

Hey Retro Fans!

You just don't stop amazing us! Our log files from the past 24 hours read like the script for a documentary on crazy hardware tinkering.

The absolute highlights of the day:

🦇 Atari ST is online: We had visits from HighWire – the custom-built browser for Atari's classic TOS (Tramiel Operating System). It’s an incredible feeling to serve our text content to a 16-bit system from the late 80s!

🎮 Netscape 4.0 on a PSP?! Yes, you read that right. Someone actually got the Netscape Navigator from 1997 running on a PlayStation Portable (with a massive 653 clicks!). This is most likely running via a homebrew Linux port or a DOSBox emulation on the handheld. Absolute madness!

👔 The Business Dinos live: We also recorded visits from old BlackBerry 10 devices and a genuine IBM OS/2 Warp system!

Whether you’re dragging your old Ataris out of the basement or testing obscure emulators on consoles – the Frog pond is open for you. Keep it up!

FrogFind's "Catch of the Day": A Greeting from IBM! (OS/2 Warp) 🚀🖥️

Hey Retro Fans and have a great weekend!

Today's Catch of the Day takes us right back to the mid-90s, straight onto the battlefield of desktop operating systems. Around 1:20 PM, we recorded this beautiful entry:

🏆 Netscape Navigator 4.61 on IBM OS/2

Why is this so cool?
Long before Linux on the desktop was a thing, there was a giant competitor to Microsoft's Windows 95: OS/2 Warp by IBM. It was incredibly stable, true 32-bit, offered outstanding multitasking, and was deeply loved by power users, banks, and network specialists.

Unfortunately, Microsoft ultimately won the marketing war, but OS/2 still has a small, incredibly loyal fanbase today (and even lives on in modern forks like ArcaOS!). The fact that someone booted up their old IBM machine (or a virtual machine) this afternoon to surf FrogFind using the classic Netscape 4 is pure retro dedication.

OS/2 lives! And on FrogFind, it loads faster than ever. 😉

FOOF. Воспроизводим легендарный баг в процессоре Pentium

Press F1 to continue

ArcaOS 5.1.2 released

While IBM's OS/2 technically did die, its development was picked up again much later, first through eComStation, and later, after money issues at its parent company Mensys, through ArcaOS. eComStation development stalled because of the money issues and has been dead for years; ArcaOS picked up where it left off and has been making steady progress since its first release in 2017. Regardless, the d
