In #darwin #australia our insects are big. Yet the #darwinstickinsect is a master of disguise. There are one green female and two smaller brown #eurycnemaosiris in this tree. They are probably the descendents of the original female that flew into our ranch slider a couple of years ago that we put into this acacia. We see new ones every year now. Males live about 6 months, females up to 18 months. #insectsofmastodon #inmygarden #backyardwildlife #backyardbiodiversity

The other night after heavy rain, went out to get more firewood and there was this beautiful Pobblebonk frog, they often burrow into the soil/sand and emerge when it’s wet. Happy to see, frogs are very ecologically sensitive, so to have such a healthy individual- very encouraging. #BackyardBiodiversity #Frogs #Nature
