I didn’t use this photo in my photo expo yesterday. It is a half-frame, but of course not a diptych. Still, this photo is most fitting for the event. . The art trail that features various painted walls—once bare—in our region. The photo was made months ago when a local artist was painting a wall of our old electrical substation in Afsnee.
The man really stands out in his colors !

It was a bit busy lately... a photo exhibition about and in my village, held as
a side event during an art trail day...
Someone congratulated me on your first exhibition at Afsnee.
- How wrong can they be... Since no one’s actually here on Pixelfed anyway. Perhaps years ago, people did see it as vandalism rather than art, but I did once have my own art trail.

A guerrilla exhibitions seemed an interesting idea to me.

left-handed photography
First and foremost, I really miss the film negative borders on my photos, it’s a shame!

So I found a solution for my analog photography during my recovery period and thought that #landscapes would work out fine with my little Yashica...

On my walks, I also took photos of a few old houses in my neighbourhood. I’m no architect at all, but certain styles still appeal to me. And the incredible architectural chaos you see in #Belgium is what makes it unique. A phenomenon in my neighbourhood and elsewhere is that old houses and villas are no longer being renovated but demolished, usually to make way for a block of #flats on the same site. It’s happening at such a pace that the typical #town or #village character is disappearing completely.

Sadly, this fantastic large #farmhouse is also set to be demolished

Photography is history; you press the shutter button and the moment is already gone forever.
This image, too, no longer exists: the blue sheep are gone, the field has been divided into plots, and the house in the background has disappeared behind new blocks of flats. The washing is dry.
Time to wrap up this episode and the test with the Werra 2.

I found this Werra 2 in a vintage camera shop in Brno when we were traveling there a few years ago. I immediately saw the challenge in taking some holiday photos with it. It's a bit of a strange device, but once you get the hang of it, it's great fun. And sharp glass !

Today, the last photos with the Olympus Trip 35... I'm finishing with three photos in one day. Two recent "test" photos taken during theatre performances and one photo from the archive. I recently had this one printed in A2 format and I'm looking forward to an exhibition in our village. The on-stage photos were taken with the aperture set to 5.6 and the distance estimated, of course.


I’m not someone who just shoots away indiscriminately,
film is precisely there to make you think about an image, not to burn through rolls of emulsion.

I always have doubts about how photography is displayed in frames on a wall, where your work, into which you have put so much time and love, is viewed distractedly and then forgotten. Guerrilla exhibitions seemed an interesting idea to me. The small photograph was displayed where it had been taken a few months earlier... The photograph within the photograph was taken with an Olympus Pen half-frame camera, and the photograph itself with an Olympus Trip 35.
