Photography is always a record of history, and sometimes a nice way to remember something.
( If, like me, you tend to think and remember in images.)

I remember zipping around #Ghent on my Yamaha SR 500, and at the time this Cabane hadn’t been open for long. A lovely initiative, and a beautiful location and little building. The #bar was closed, but it was still nice to stop by and take a few photos with my Minolta Hi-Matic 7s, which I was testing out.

Years ago, I bought a Hi-Matic 7s.
Luckily for me, I was able to buy my collection of cameras before the analogue revival happened.
So I was able to buy loads of cameras for around 20 euros each .
It’s always nice to test something out with film ! I always had something to test with in my bag. You don’t actually need much to use a camera.
You’ve got your film, your subject, the aperture and your shutter speed.

Nachhaltiges Europa? Ja, bitte! Eine Gruppe von 40 Studierenden aus vier europäischen Ländern trifft sich diese Woche in #Bochum , um über Wege zu mehr #Nachhaltigkeit in #Europa zu diskutieren. Beteiligt sind neben der #HochschuleBochum die Universität #Pavia aus #italien die Universität #Ghent aus #Belgien und die Universität Castilla-La Mancha aus #Albacete, #Spanien. Ich freue mich darüber, dass die Studierenden hoch motiviert sind und super zusammenarbeiten!

Photography is history; you press the shutter button and the moment is already gone forever.
This image, too, no longer exists: the blue sheep are gone, the field has been divided into plots, and the house in the background has disappeared behind new blocks of flats. The washing is dry.
Time to wrap up this episode and the test with the Werra 2.

I found this Werra 2 in a vintage camera shop in Brno when we were traveling there a few years ago. I immediately saw the challenge in taking some holiday photos with it. It's a bit of a strange device, but once you get the hang of it, it's great fun. And sharp glass !

Today, the last photos with the Olympus Trip 35... I'm finishing with three photos in one day. Two recent "test" photos taken during theatre performances and one photo from the archive. I recently had this one printed in A2 format and I'm looking forward to an exhibition in our village. The on-stage photos were taken with the aperture set to 5.6 and the distance estimated, of course.


I’m not someone who just shoots away indiscriminately,
film is precisely there to make you think about an image, not to burn through rolls of emulsion.
